Lake Tahoe Fishing

Here are some links to sport fishing companies at South Lake Tahoe
Below are pictures from our Makinaw fishing aboard the "Prophet", operated by Tahoe Sport Fishing Co. The best time to fish for Makinaw Lake Trout is in the winter time. In summer, you'll want to go for the Kokonee Salmon. The charter fishing expedition operators have morning and afternoon tours.

 | | When fishing for Makinaw, the trick is to keep the
tackle just above lake bottom. The 8 ounce weight keeps the line down, and the fisherman's
job is to keep bouncing the weight off the bottom. A little practice is all that is needed,
and the guides are extremely helpful. |

(minnow). It's not a pleasant task ... but doesn't look like much fun for the minnow either

sunset behind us! It looks as though the mountains are on fire! |

all of the fish for us. |

 | | Using a GPS receiver,
we marked the spot where we caught the most fish. We'll be back! |
