Fallen Leaf Lake - Lake Tahoe Fishing

Approximately 30 miles southeast of Tahoe City at an elevation of 6,400 feet just short distance off the south shores of Lake Tahoe, Fallen Leaf Lake permits boating and rentals are available at the lake.  Gas and launching facilities are available as well as bait, tackle, groceries, and supplies.  Fishing is limited to rainbow, brown, and mackinaw trout but usually very rewarding.  Best from a boat, illegal within 250 feet of dam.  For more information contact US Forest Service (530) 573-2600.

Driving directions from TahoeTarns at Zephyr Cove: Take the 1st LEFT onto US-50 / LAKE TAHOE BLVD (Crossing into CALIFORNIA). go 8.5 mi urn SLIGHT RIGHT onto CA-89 / EMERALD BAY RD.  CA-89 is 0.1 miles past JAMES AVE. go 3.1 mi Turn LEFT onto FALLEN LEAF RD.  FALLEN LEAF RD is 0.3 miles past VALHALLA RD. go 4.8 mi Turn RIGHT to stay on FALLEN LEAF RD.  FALLEN LEAF RD is 0.3 miles past ANGORA LOOKOUT RD. go 0.3 mi 295 FALLEN LEAF RD is on the RIGHT.  If you reach the end of FALLEN LEAF RD you've gone about 0.2 miles too far. Total Travel Estimate:  16.7 miles - about 35 minutes.
