Prosser Creek Reservoir - Lake Tahoe Fishing

Located approximately 40 miles west of Reno, Nevada at an elevation of 5,715 feet, Prosser Reservoir is a 740 surface acre lake with 11 miles of sage covered shoreline.  Boating is allowed under 10 MPH.  Some of the finest California trout fishing with both rainbow and brown trout ready to jump on the stringer.  Try power bait, nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs.  Trollers are also netting with success using flasher/worm combinations and minnow imitating lures.  If fly fishing, try olive or black woolly buggers, nymphs, and midges.  For more information call Truckee Ranger District (530) 478-6257.

Driving directions from TahoeTarns at Zephyr Cove: Take the 1st RIGHT onto US-50 E. go 8.9 mi Turn LEFT onto NV-28 (Crossing into CALIFORNIA).  NV-28 is 0.3 miles past GENOA PEAK RD go 16.2 mi NV-28 becomes CA-28 / N LAKE BLVD. go 1.7 mi Turn RIGHT onto N SHORE BLVD / CA-267. Continue to follow CA-267.  CA-267 is just past SECLINE ST. go 11.8 mi CA-267 becomes CA-89 N / TRUCKEE BYP. go 0.2 mi Enter next roundabout and take 2nd exit onto CA-89. go 0.3 mi Turn RIGHT onto PROSSER DAM RD (Portions unpaved). Pass through 1 roundabout.  If you reach RAINBOW DR you've gone about 0.9 miles too far. go 3.2 mi 13188 PROSSER DAM RD is on the LEFT.  If you reach ANNIE MCCLOUD you've gone about 0.2 miles too far. Total Travel Estimate:  42.3 miles - about 1 hour and 1 minute.
